A few people have asked me where I get ideas for the reviews I write here, so I thought I’d make a post about it. Mostly I just write about things that I’m using in everyday life. For example, I’ve reviewed my vacuum cleaner, my PDA, and a couple other products that I use. I also review the movies and television shows I watch, as well as the books I read. There’s really no rhyme or reason to the products I choose to review — it’s all pretty random and based on what I’m doing or what I’d like to do.
Some people have noted that I write an awful lot of movie reviews. That’s true, and it’s because I get paid a very small stipend to write full-length movie reviews for a different site. Since I get paid more than the cost of renting the DVDs and since I can write the rental fees off on my taxes, I take full advantage of that gig. Plus, I don’t work outside the home, so I have time to watch a lot of movies!
