I first discovered Woot.com way back in July, and was very intrigued by the concept. The site offers one (and only one) product for sale each day. The prices are supposedly lower than anywhere else on the ‘net and supplies are quite limited. Woot never actually tells how many of an item are available, so it could be 10 or 10,000 for all I know. Plus, shipping on all items is $5 regardless of how big or small.

I’ve been checking Woot every single day, but haven’t bought anything yet. Out of all the items put up for sale in the last five months since I’ve been checking the daily Woots, I’ve only seen a few that I’ve even remotely been interested in. Most of the items seem to be electronics: computer accessories, MP3 players, speakers, car navigation systems, etc. There have also been quite a few kitchen appliances and things like that. The prices do seem extremely low, but that doesn’t help me if I’m not interested in the products in the first place.

My final assessment is that Woot.com simply isn’t for me. I’m removing it from my bookmarks and won’t be wasting my time stopping in there every single day. Interesting concept, but the products just don’t appeal to me.
