I’ve been reading Agatha Christie books since the summer, and I’ve enjoyed them immensely (for the most part). I was looking around for more information about her today when I discovered the Official Agatha Christie Website. I spent about an hour looking through the pages, and I really liked what I saw.
First of all, there is a great “recommendation” feature that puts up a random capsule of one of Christie’s books. This is a fun way to browse through her works and find one that sounds interesting to you if you’re not trying to read everything in chronological order.
Second, there is a nice little biography and a pretty good FAQ section on the site. I learned a lot of things that I never knew about Christie and her books (for example, that And Then There Were None was the biggest-selling book of her career). I like websites that give me solid information, so I was pleased with these sections.
Third, there’s a message board that seems to be fairly active. I don’t know how many users there are, but I took a look through some of the threads and a lot of them have seen activity in the last few days or so. If you wanted to hook up with other Christie fans, that might be a good place to start.
And of course you can purchase any of her books right from the site, which is convenient. They have audiobooks too, which I’m especially interested in.
Overall, the Official Agatha Christie Website is definitely a place that fans should visit. Check it out if you’ve never been there before!
