I’ve made no secret of the fact that I love wristwatches. I have several in my collection, and they all have different features that make them great. But my favorite one of all has to be my Gucci 5505 Ladies Watch, which, surprisingly enough, isn’t even the most expensive timepiece I own. I guess the phrase “You get what you pay for” doesn’t apply to everything!
First, the manufacturer’s specs: The watch is made by Gucci, a designer that is known more for clothing and leather goods than for jewelry. It has a silver dial, a brushed steel case and bracelet, a “deployment buckle” on the bracelet (making it very easy to both snap the watch into place and take it off), battery operation, a second hand, and date window. In addition, the watch is water resistant up to 100 feet (30M). To verify the authenticity of your watch, make sure you see a Gucci logo and serial number on the back of the case.
Now I’ll tell you why I like this watch so much. For one thing, it looks very classy and elegant without being overly showy. You can see at a glance that it’s a nice watch, but at the same time, it’s not something that would make people think you’ve got money to burn. I particularly like the rounded contours of the case and how the bezel seamlessly connects to the links. I’ve looked at a lot of watches in my time, and the Gucci 5505 is definitely one of the most stylish in the under $1,000 price range.
Another reason that I like this watch is the fact that it is the perfect weight. This is a major factor that I consider prior to purchasing a timepiece because I don’t want anything that is either too light or too heavy. I like a watch that feels completely comfortable on my wrist, and I’ve never had one as perfect as the Gucci 5505.
I’ve seen this watch advertised for between $550 - $750 online. If you purchase online, be sure that you use a trusted website that guarantees authenticity and doesn’t deal in “refurbished” pieces at all. You should also make sure to that your watch comes in the original packaging with the owner’s manual and of course the serial numbers on back. If any of those things are amiss, or if the watch feels unusually lightweight (a sign of low-quality components), then you’ve probably received a fake.
Overall, I think the Gucci 5505 Ladies Watch is one of the best around. I prefer this over my Cartier Santos and wear it more than any other timepiece in my collection. You can’t go wrong with this watch!
