Improve Your Financial Picture

One thing that my husband and I are committed to working on this year is reducing our overall debt. We each have several credit cards, and of course we have our car payments and mortgage that we must deal with each and every month. We know we’ll have that mortgage for the next 20+ years, but we feel we can eliminate those other debts in the near future.

I heard about a site called Bills.com that can help people like us get our finances organized. I was particularly impressed by Bills.com’s Debt Freedom guide site, which contains great tips on how to start getting out of debt today. For instance, there’s an easy-to-follow plan for setting up a household budget that will help track cash inflows and outflows. This will make it possible to identify areas where my family is wasting money as well as areas where it’s possible to save more. That’s a great way to start controlling expenses, which will hopefully free up more cash to pay off bills.

I am excited about the information I got from Bills.com and can’t wait to get started with my budget. I also noticed that Bills.com offers several other services intended to help folks get out of debt, including loan consolidation. That’s something I’ve used in the past, so I know firsthand how useful such a service can be. I don’t think we’re going to go that route just yet, but it’s nice to know the option exists should we choose to do so at a later date.

Anyway, if you want to take control of your finances soon, then I recommend checking out the free Debt Freedom guide on Bills.com (it’s also available as a PDF download).
