It’s hard to believe, but the current television season will be coming to a close in a couple of months. In order for me to keep my TV recaps going, I want to use the long summer to watch shows that I didn’t have time for during the regular season.
But I don’t want to waste my time on shows that suck or that will just end up getting cancelled, which is why I need your input. Do you have any recommendations for me? What’s a show that you think I’d be able to get into quickly? I’ve heard some great things about Ugly Betty, so I might give that a try, but are there any other ones that you can recommend? The show doesn’t have to be brand-new; in fact, I’d actually prefer if you recommended something that’s a couple of years old so I can watch the DVDs.

I’m not sure if these are available on DVD, but I love Deadwood and Big Love from HBO and Dexter and Sleeper Cell from Showtime.
I also am really enjoying Jericho that’s on now.
Vernoica Mars and Cold Case are good.
Medium! Wednesday nights…such a great show. And reruns on Lifetime.
I’m currently watching Gilmore Girls (though the quality is not what it used to be), Lost, and Ugly Betty. Everything else is reality tv so you wouldn’t be interested.
Hm. You’ve had some good recommendations. I love ‘Deadwood’, ooh and ‘Rome’ has been really good, if you can deal with graphic.
Heroes and LOST. Two of my current fave shows.
They are simply amazing. LOST especially. It’s such a mystery what is going on.
House, Bones, Supernatural are some of my favorites.

Love Christine, but we also watch The Class and Two and a Half Men that night…it’s a laugh out loud night on Mondays at my house!
You watch the ones I watch when I watch tv. That is very seldom. We rent a lot of DVD’s.

I used to be a big TLC fan when I had cable.
Extreme Makeover Home Edition is on before Desperate Housewives on Sundays … definitely worth tuning in early for. I guess it can fall into the reality category, but there’s no eating of bugs or drastic plastic surgery or voting off the island going on. Just people helping people.
