The new Entourage episode that aired last night (April 22) was called “Manic Monday” and dealt with Ari getting back to being Ari, as well as with some of the tension between Vince and new agent Amanda. Here’s a closer look at what happened on episode 3×15.
Amanda calls Eric early in the morning and demands an answer about the next movie project that she has lined up for Vince. This is the Edith Wharton book that Sam Mendes is making into a film, in case you forgot. Amanda wants to meet with them in person by 10am. E has no choice but to comply.
So Vince and E go in, and Amanda reads them the riot act for leaving her hanging in regards to the new project. Vince says he wants to go over the script one more time, but he’ll have an answer by the end of the day. In reality, he has no intention of committing to another project until “the cameras roll on Medellin.”
So Vince and E go have dinner with Amanda to tell her the news. In the middle of dinner, Vince said that the reason he can’t say “no” to Amanda is that she’s “cute.” That leads to a whole thing about sexual tension, so later Amanda calls Vince and tells him that they need to have sex in order to get rid of that tension. After that, they’ll never talk about it again and they can proceed with business as usual. Vince is all for it.
Meanwhile, Ari has been a different person since the break with Vince. He’s not as aggressive, doesn’t have his killer instinct, and is even being protective of employees (like Lloyd). He goes to see his therapist, and she gives him some insight into his problem. By the end of the ep, Ari’s got his swagger back, and demonstrates this by publicly firing an employee in the conference room.
My Reaction: The Vince/E/Amanda stuff didn’t interest me in the least. I don’t like the new agent at all, so I don’t really care what happens to her. Piven stole the show again, and it was great to see Ari become Ari again! I know this means he’ll start pursuing Vince hard now… I can’t wait to see what he’ll do to win his boy back!
Turtle and Drama didn’t have one of their usual subplots this week. I always used to think their stories were boring filler material, but now that we got an ep without their antics, it made me realize how much these two round out the show.
Anyway, looking forward to next week!
