Goji Berry Products

If you’re anything like me, then you’ve probably been hearing all about the various goji berry products that have become very popular among health-conscious people recently. This popularity shouldn’t come as a surprise; after all, goji berries are packed with key vitamins, minerals, proteins, and antioxidants — all of which promote better health. Moreover, goji berries contain cancer-fighting properties that can help your body ward off that disease.

There are lots of different ways to consume goji berries in order to enjoy these different health benefits. First, you can eat dried goji berries (which look like other dried fruit snacks). Second, you can drink Goji juice, either in 100% pure form or in a special blend with other fruits. Third, you can buy goji seeds and cultivate your own berries, if you’re so inclined.

Personally, I’m hoping they put goji berries into capsule form so I can pop a pill and be done with it! Until that happens, however, I guess I’d choose the 100% pure goji berry juice (chilled to perfection, of course). Healthy and refreshing… what more could you possibly want?!

How I Met Your Mother 2×22

How I Met Your MotherJosh Radnor Neil Patrick Harris Alyson Hannigan Last night’s episode of How I Met Your Mother was the Season Two finale and concluded the two-part Marshall/Lily wedding arc. We also got some big news from Ted and Robin, so don’t read on if you haven’t actually watched the show yet! Here’s my recap of what happened on episode 2×22.

Marshall/Lily: Marshall and Lily are forced to try to make it through their wedding reception on an empty stomach. They’d like to eat — after all, they paid good money for some choice food — but every time they try to grab something, a different friend or relative intercepts them to talk to or congratulate them on their big day. As a result, Lily is forced to make do with strawberries (the ones inside the champagne glasses). She gets totally drunk and practically passes out when it comes time to feed Marshall the cake.

Finally, the two leave for their honeymoon in Scotland, and that’s when they’re able to stop off at a burger joint to feast on cheap, greasy food.

Ted/Robin: During the reception, Ted makes an offhand remark about being able to tell everyone “the news” once Marshall and Lily depart for their honeymoon. Barney, of course, can’t wait that long, so he pesters Ted and Robin to give up the info immediately. They begin to tell him the story, but they keep getting interrupted along the way. So, it takes them the entire episode to reveal that they finally decided to BREAK UP!! Yes, the Ted/Robin pairing is over for good!! They just realized that they don’t want the same things in life, and decided to make an amicable split rather than just hope that the other person would change significantly. They actually broke up two weeks ago, but didn’t want to ruin the wedding by making their story the big one.

My Reaction: The episode was kind of boring, but I am just ecstatic that Robin and Ted finally broke up!! I actually liked them as a couple and all, so that’s not why I’m so happy. It’s just that we already know that Ted doesn’t marry Robin, so what’s the point of having to watch them date for so long?? Can’t wait to see Ted and Barney work the dating scene next season!

Win a Date with a Celeb!

There’s a cool new contest over at GoFish.com that some of you guys will definitely be interested in. It’s called “Seduce a Celeb” and is truly an online first. Mirelly Taylor, who has appeared in the films Serving Sara and Kiss Me Again, as well as television series like Las Vegas and Numb3rs, is the celeb in question, and all you have to do to win a date with her is “seduce” her via video!

The contest will run for the next 14 weeks, and in that time, Mirelly will give you clues as to what she’s looking for in a man. Contestants can then create videos in direct response to something Mirelly has said, or they can just create general video submissions showing why they should be chosen. For example, Mirelly recently said that she wants a man who’s a good kisser, so several contestants showed off their techniques — on pieces of fruit!!

I think this is a very cool idea for a contest and shows that there’s more than just free videos at GoFish.com! What I’d really like to see, however, is a chance for the ladies to win a date with a celeb. They’ve got to get someone like Mirelly’s Serving Sara co-star Matthew Perry to join the fun. If a date with Matt was up for grabs, I’d be all over that!

Anyway, even if you don’t actually make a video for the Seduce a Celeb contest, you can still participate by voting for the other contestants. Mirelly gets the final say in who wins, but your votes help get the contestants noticed, so audience participation is very important here. Get on over to GoFish.com right now to check out the top submissions thus far!

Desperate Housewives 3×22

Desperate Housewives Logo 2 The May 13 episode of Desperate Housewives was the first of a two-part season finale. It was called “What Would We Do Without You” and dealt mostly with preparations for Gabby and Susan’s upcoming weddings. In addition, there was plenty more Lynette and Tom in-fighting, with a surprising twist along the way. Here’s a closer look at what happened in episode 3×22.

Susan/Mike/Gabby: Mike and Susan get engaged on the one-year anniversary of Mike’s hit-and-run accident, which of course was the night he was originally going to pop the question. Susan felt this would be a good day to get engaged (officially) so they could “turn a bad memory into a good one.”

Planning the wedding won’t be a problem, either. After all, Susan already spent months getting things ready for her wedding to Ian. Mike won’t mind having the same wedding, so all Susan has to do is call everyone back and tell them the wedding is on again — with just a small substitution in the groom’s name!

That plan actually might have worked, except for the fact that Gabby pounced on the wedding date and all of Susan’s hired help (photographer, florist, etc.) as soon as she heard that Susan cancelled. Her excuse was that Victor wants to get married quickly, and this was the fastest way to get things done.

The two ladies fight for awhile, but then make up and get drunk on wine and chocolate. At that point, they think it would be a good idea to have a double wedding, but the next morning they realize how much of a mistake that would be. Both use their future husbands as excuses to back out of the plan.

Lynette/Tom: Lynette is still brooding about the way Tom drove Rick off. Tom can’t stand that Lynette’s not talking to him, so he brings in an old frat buddy who’s now a couple’s counselor. Of course, Tom doesn’t tell Lynette that the guy is a counselor; he just pretends that his friend is there to visit them. Lynette sees through the scheme quickly, and gets even more angry with Tom.

Tom won’t give up, and continues to press the issue. He finally gives Lynette an ultimatum: either have sex with him or talk to him. He wants to connect with her again, and those are the only two things he can think of, apparently. Lynette flips out at this and gets extremely angry. She’ll have sex with him, but she “won’t make love” to him. She starts ripping his clothes off violently, and scratches him in her anger. Tom reacts by pushing Lynette off him, and she ends up hitting her head on the end table.

Later, at the hospital, the doctor who evaluated Lynette’s CAT scan has some concerns about what he sees: it’s possible that Lynette could have cancer.

Edie/Carlos: Mike moves in with Susan, which means Carlos will have the house all to himself. Edie doesn’t like this arrangement since they almost always spend the night together anyway, so she asks Carlos to move in with her. He hesitates and says he just signed a new lease, etc.

Edie won’t take “no” for an answer, so she goes to the homeowner and starts telling her lies about Carlos, saying that he’s a “functional junkie” who’s addicted to heroin and who frequently brings hookers to the house. The woman believes Edie, tears up the lease, and orders Carlos to leave within a couple of days.

Edie offers Carlos a spot in her house, and Carlos immediately figures out that Edie must have been behind his eviction. He tells her that the reason he doesn’t want to move in with her is that he’s not in love with her. Edie is taken aback by this, but she’s already got Plan B in place: she pulls a pregnancy test out of her grocery bags and tells Carlos that she’s late.

They go back to her house to take the test, but it comes out negative. Edie can see how disappointed Carlos is by the news, so she suggests that they try to have a baby. They debate for awhile, then Carlos agrees to do it. Meanwhile, we see Edie in the bathroom taking her birth control pills. Turns out she’s just scheming to get Carlos to stay with her.

My Reaction: I thought the Tom/Lynette storyline was the most compelling of the night. Felicity Huffman continues to wow me with nearly every performance. She’s really making me sympathize with Lynette’s situation regarding the whole Rick thing. I don’t think there needs to be a possible cancer twist here, but we’ll see how it goes.

The other stuff was pretty boring. I so sick of all the wedding preparation talk — just get to it already! And Carlos and Edie as a couple still make me gag, so I’m just counting down the days til they break up. Hopefully Carlos will come to his senses before Gabby walks down the aisle with Victor.

And hey, Bree’s back next week!!!

Discount Theme Park Tickets

Orlando is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the United States, and for good reason: there are so many exciting family attractions to choose from that you can do something different each time you go. Of course, many families decide to visit Orlando because of the world-class theme parks located in the area, so it’s likely that your itinerary involves spending at least a day or two at one of these parks.

Admission to the parks is usually quite expensive, and can really wreak havoc with your vacation budget. In order to save money, I recommend purchasing discount tickets in advance from a company like OrlandoFunTickets.com. OrlandoFunTickets offers significant discounts on Disney World, Sea World, Islands of Adventure, Busch Gardens, and Universal Studios tickets, as well as discounts to other attractions such as dinner theaters, the Kennedy Space Center, and the Richard Petty Driving Experience.
