I have several friends who didn’t have a chance to go to college immediately after high school. Instead, they had to work in order to make ends meet, and the more time they spent out of school, the harder it seemed to go back. Then they got married, had kids, and the next thing they know, they’re in their thirties and still don’t have a Bachelor’s degree.

I’ve always stressed the importance of education, so whenever I talk to these women, I try to convince them that it’s not too late to go back to school. In fact, it’s probably easier to earn a college degree now than it was 10 years ago because there are so many more options for students. For example, if my friends enroll in an online university instead of attending classes on campus, they’ll be able to work on their degrees in their spare time. That means no commuting back and forth to school in rush-hour traffic, no babysitters, and no hassles.

It also means no more excuses for putting off college, so I hope my friends take my advice to heart and enroll in an accredited distance learning program like those offered by Capella University. It’ll be one of the best things they can do for themselves and for their families.
