My local library does have a ton of movies, many of which can be checked out for free or for a nominal fee of like $1 or something. But I've never seen TV shows available there. I do think that House is good enough to warrant purchasing the DVDs. It's not a perfect show, of course. There have been story arcs that I hated, and having the same basic structure week in and week out can feel repetitive at times. But overall, this is a very good program.
