greystitle.jpg Last night’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy was called “Kung Fu Fighting,” and if any of you can tell me what connection the title had to anything that happened during the hour, I’d appreciate it. As for the ep itself, I think the show is slowly but surely sliding back into the black abyss that was Season 3: it was boring, exasperating, and didn’t advance any of the major plotlines at all.

I’ve decided that instead of wasting my time reliving this crap by posting my usual blow-by-blow account of what happened, I’m just going to write out my reactions today.

Callie/George/Izzie: I’m so glad that Callie finally decided to just “let go” of George and the marriage. He totally isn’t worth agonizing over, so hopefully she’ll get over him quickly.

I was disgusted by all that talk of George and Izzie’s perfect night together. They are on the verge of overtaking Meredith and Derek as my least favorite couple on the show, which is quite an accomplishment. I cannot stand their relationship! They were so awesome as best friends; why did the writers have to go and ruin that dynamic?

Derek/Sloan/Chief Webber/New Burke: (I don’t remember what New Burke’s name is, so I’ll just call her what Pretty and Prettier called her.) I thought the whole “gentleman’s evening” thing was boring. There was so much speculation and buildup from Sloan and Derek that having it end up being Monopoly in Shepherd’s yard was too anticlimactic. Tassels, shiny sequins, and dollar bills would have been a whole lot better!

Meredith/Derek: Ugh. I once again hit the fast forward button as soon as I saw them in bed together. Don’t know, don’t wanna know.

Lexie/Alex: I hate to say it, but these two are the most interesting pairing on the show right now. I still don’t particularly care for Lexie, and I’m getting tired of her whole “poor me” act, but for some reason I don’t mind her with Alex.

What was up with the ending to this ep? Were Alex and Lexie really getting it on in the hallway? Couldn’t they have moved two more feet into Alex’s room? Then when Meredith peeked out, she would have seen the door closed, would have assumed that Alex had some random chick over, and would have left it at that. Common sense, people!

Next week: Man, I really need this show to get better, and I hope next week will bring a move in the right direction. I’ve watched a couple of S2 episodes in the past few weeks, and totally got nostalgic about how fantastic Grey’s used to be. What the hell happened here?
