I’m always looking for new ways to monetize my websites in order to bring in a bit of extra cash. Since I haven’t had much luck with old school pay-per-click advertising models, I’m ready to try a few different methods now.

One of the most intriguing opportunities I’ve come across is something called Pay-Per-Play advertising from Net Audio Ads. In the Pay-Per-Play model, publishers (website owners) simply insert a snippet of code on their sites, which allows NetAudioAds™ to serve up 5-second audio clips from a variety of different advertisers. The publisher earns money on 100% of their traffic — regardless of click-throughs, sign-ups, or other actions.

NetAudioAds™ has been around for more than two years already, and boasts nationally recognized brands such as Harley Davidson and Taco Bell among its 66,000 advertisers.

After reading through a bunch of additional information about this program, I went ahead and signed up for it. I think this sounds like a fantastic way to earn extra income from my sites — especially since I’ll be getting all of the revenue generated from my traffic. Plus, I love the fact that my commission won’t be dependent upon clicks or sign-ups because that means I can count on getting money as long as visitors are checking out my sites.

In addition, since I signed up today, I was able to get in on the NetAudioAds™ affiliate program, and will be able to earn money from everyone that joins the program through my link. The affiliate program is set to close to new members on February 1, so I’m glad I was able to join in time.

After a scheduled two-month hiatus, Prison Break was back with an all-new episode last night. I have to admit that I was looking forward to watching it, mostly because I’m really starting to feel the lack of scripted shows on TV thanks to the strike.

Unfortunately, episode 3×09 was utter crap, and reminded me of how I haven’t liked the show very much this year. I swear, if there wasn’t a strike going on, I would be finished with Prison Break. It’s gotten that bad. But since Monday night doesn’t really have anything else to offer me, I guess I’ll keep going with this show.

At any rate, here’s what happened during the ep called “Boxed In”.

Michael/Whistler: After the failed escape attempt from the last episode (when Michael and Whistler didn’t make it to the helicopter), Michael was escorted out of SONA by a general.

In this episode, the general starts out by questioning Michael, who refuses to talk. So the general sends him out to the “hot box” to see if spending several hours out in the Panama sun will help loosen his tongue.

Michael does indeed start talking, and actually tells the general the truth. The general believes Scofield, so next he brings Whistler in to confirm the story. When Whistler refuses to talk, the general tries some other form of torture, and soon enough, Whistler gives up the name Gretchen Morgan.

Next, the general’s men go to pick up Gretchen and bring her in, and we go through the same denial-torture-confession routine. Then, Gretchen agrees to take the general to a shack where she’s holding LJ. While there, she overpowers the two military men who are with her, and manages to escape.

Linc/Sucre: They didn’t do much of anything, except stage a fight so Gretchen would think they’re on the outs. Then she makes an offer to Sucre: she’ll give him $50,000 if he can feed her information so she’ll always be one step ahead of Linc. He pretends to agree.

Mahone: Gets tossed back into SONA, and this time refuses to take any drugs that T-Bag offers him. Instead, he’s getting solace from a lucky silver dollar that his former FBI partner gave him.

Bellick/T-Bag: Someone tosses the chicken foot at Bellick, so he ends up getting into one of those “to the death” fights. He cheats by wrapping acetone-soaked rags around his hands and overpowering his opponent that way.

T-Bag wants to go along with the crew that’s escaping, so he makes a deal with Whistler. T-Bag will get rid of the snooping Sammy if Whistler cuts him in on the plan. Whistler agrees.

My Reaction: God, I was bored throughout this entire episode. Prison Break brought absolutely nothing new to the table — except for perhaps the understanding general, but of course they had to kill him off almost immediately.

Speaking of which, as soon as I saw that there were only two people escorting Gretchen to that shack, I knew they would be toast. This show is so damn predictable these days. Ugh.

Bellick wins in a fight to the death? Oh, right. Give me a fucking break. That character is beyond useless at this point, so that fight would have been a perfect way to get him off the show. Unfortunately, it looks like the writers are going to insist on torturing viewers with his presence. Ditto for T-Bag.

LJ, Linc, Sucre… don’t care about them at all.

You know what? Screw it. I’m done with this show!! It’s so stupid, the plot devices are way overused, and they’re just going to drag the inevitable escape out to the very last episode. I don’t even care that I won’t have anything else to watch on Mondays. Prison Break is a miserable fucking show, and I refuse to waste my time with it anymore!!!
