Since there’s nothing on TV that I want to watch, I’ve just been going through a lot of my old DVDs to catch bits and pieces of my favorite shows. In doing so, I was reminded of something that totally bothers me about certain programs. I absolutely hate how every single character, no matter what their profession or income, has really great furniture in their homes!
I know this seems like something minor, but it totally bugs me. For example, I was watching an old episode of CSI and noticed that some lowlife two-bit criminal had a neater home and better furniture than most of the people I know. How realistic is that?
And don’t even get me started about shows like Desperate Housewives, The O.C., Cashmere Mafia, or any of the others that feature upscale characters. Their home decor and furnishings are way, way beyond what regular people would spend on such things. I mean, I don’t think I’d be able to afford any of that stuff even if I had a directbuy membership and could get everything for about half price.
Oh, well… they’re just television shows, right? I should be focusing my energies on more important things!
