I was organizing some of my family photo albums earlier today, so I’m feeling a bit nostalgic for my son’s baby and toddler stages. I started remembering all the cute things he said and did, some of which were caught on camera, but most of which were not. And while I do appreciate having at least a couple of albums full of snapshots, I really wish I had video footage to document memorable milestones such as my boy’s first steps, birthday parties, first day of kindergarten, and the like. It’s just too bad we never had access to a video camera during all that time!
The good news for me is that it’s not too late to capture the magic of childhood. After all, my son is just five years old, which means that there are still plenty of “firsts” left for him to experience. What I need to do now is make sure I have a camcorder on hand for all of those occasions — which is why I’ve been religiously checking the Weekly Deals over at Buy.com in case a great sale comes up.
Well, today my persistence was rewarded! I saw a Vivitar DVR7300X 7MP Digital Camcorder on Buy.com for just $119.99. That’s a very good price considering all the features that come with the Vivitar DVR7300X, some of which include 3X optical zoom, 4X digital zoom, 2.5-inch LCD monitor, digital image stabilization, and even a personal media player. Moreover, the Vivitar DVR7300X is very compact and lightweight, making it easy to tote around for all of our big events.
I would love to order this Vivitar digital camcorder ASAP so I can begin shooting home movies right away. I’ve already missed recording so many special moments that I really need to start making up for lost time. Hopefully after we pay our bills this week there will be enough of my husband’s paycheck left to make this purchase!
