I watched a bunch of Ghost Whisperer episodes this week, and managed to finally finish the first season. All I can say is WOW! What a way to end things, huh?

I usually catch all the foreshadowing that television series throw out there for viewers, but I did NOT see the twist about Andrea’s death coming at all. Yes, it was a total ripoff of The Sixth Sense twist or whatever, but I still thought it was very well done and the effect was pretty powerful. I’m still shaking my head in disbelief over Episode 1×22.

Actually, I’m sad to see that Aisha Tyler’s character will no longer be on the show. I grew to like Andrea Moreno a lot, and thought she brought a great sense of humor and lightheartedness to the show. That will certainly be missed — unless the Camryn Manheim replacement character happens to be the same sort of person.

And then there are the more practical considerations of who will run the antiques store while Melinda is out helping spirits cross over. Andrew was the one who ran the business and did everything from take inventory to sell handcrafted jewelry to the few customers that wandered in from time to time. Don’t tell me Melinda is going to be able to do all this and tend to her ghosts, too.

Anyway, I still have mixed feelings about Ghost Whisperer as a whole. Sometimes I feel like it’s the cheesiest show on television, but other times it’s pretty darn entertaining. I’m going to continue watching the second season because I do like Camryn Manheim and I want to see what extra element she brings to the show. I just wish Aisha was still around though!
