Purpose Gentle Cleansing Bar As I was cleaning out the bathroom yesterday, I was struck by how many Johnson & Johnson products I have in there. I usually just associate the JNJ name and logo with shampoo and baby powder, but they actually offer an unbelievable array of consumer products for just about every need. My cabinets are stocked with Tylenol, Motrin, Imodium, Benadryl, Acuvue contacts, Listerine mouthwash, Band-Aid bandages, Neutrogena moisturizer, and Purpose soap — and that’s in a single bathroom!

After seeing all these JNJ products, I became curious enough to visit their website. Even though I’ve been hearing the company’s name ever since I was a kid, I really didn’t know all that much about them. So I was very encouraged to learn that JNJ is committed to giving back to the community and protecting the environment — two characteristics that I like to see in companies that I support with my hard-earned dollars.

For example, I watched some videos showing how JNJ participates in several programs around the world aimed at preventing the spread of diseases such as HIV/AIDS, and how they also try to reduce their environmental impact by using only new-growth trees in their Band-Aid facility in Brazil. I love seeing JNJ take the initiative like this… just imagine how much better the world would be if every major corporation contributed in the same way!

At any rate, I’ve always loved JNJ consumer health products (I can’t live without my Motrin or Purpose bar), and now I can feel good about spending my money with them, knowing that they give back so much to communities everywhere.
