Last night’s episode of How I Met Your Mother was called “I Heart NJ”, and while it was definitely better than 4×02, it still wasn’t quite up to snuff when compared with the better eps in the series. As I’m kind of pressed for time this morning, I’m not going to give a full recap (most of the ep just consisted of Ted and Stella arguing about where they’ll live after they get married) but will post a few thoughts instead.

– Finally some acknowledgment that Barney still has feelings for Robin. That one look at the end, when she announced that she was going to Japan, said it all. Now, I just wonder if he’ll make a declaration before she goes or keep it to himself.

– Stella is sooo not going to end up being Ted’s wife. They’re so different that it would never work. I just hope the breakup comes soon, because frankly, Sarah Chalke is kind of annoying and throws the regular group dynamic way off.

– My friends have told me that Robin working in Japan was revealed back in the S2 finale. I don’t pay enough attention to these episodes to remember a detail like that, but at least the writers are still all about continuity.

– Not being from New York or New Jersey, I don’t understand the big fight about which is better. Do people really feel that strongly about the city they live in? I mean, I love Chicago and all, but I wouldn’t go on and on about its merits like the HIMYM crew did.

Well, that’s about all I’ve got for this ep. I hope the next one deals more with Barney/Robin, as that’s the only relationship I’m interested in right now!
