CSI Premiere Tonight

CSI Cast Photo The CSI Season 9 premiere is tonight, and with the title “For Warrick”, will presumably deal with the discovery of and fallout from Warrick’s murder, which occurred at the end of Season 8.

I used to be a huge CSI fan, and this used to be a show that I really looked forward to watching, but I’ve pretty much given up on it by now. Season 8 was just terrible, and none of the characters are remotely compelling anymore.

Plus, it has always bothered me that all of the crimes featured on CSI are committed by locals who are easy to track down and question. You’d think that in a place like las vegas nevada, the CSI crew would come across a lot of incidents that point to out-of-town doers, right? Just once it would be cool to see the investigators run into problems because the perp is from Brazil or Bulgaria and they can’t extradite him/her for questioning!

Anyway, I’m not planning on watching CSI, though I’m still going to TiVo the eps. If I hear that they’re good, I’ll catch up on weekends or whatever. I’d like to tune in for Laurence Fishburne’s arrival just to see what his character is all about, but other than that, nothing really excites me about this show anymore.

Weekly TV Roundup for 10/9/08

Bones 4×07 — “The He in the She”: I didn’t like the mystery of the week at all, as there wasn’t a heck of a lot of time spent on character development as far as the victim and his/her surviving family members went.

Not a lot happened back at the lab either, though I have to say that this week’s new intern was better than past ones have been. Maybe I’m just saying that because I love trivia and wouldn’t mind being around a guy who spouts useless facts all day — but that’s just me!

Less Booth/Bones flirtation is a good thing these days, so I like that the writers have toned down all the ’shippy stuff. Not a great episode on the whole… and definitely not a good way to go into a month-long hiatus. Bones won’t be back with new eps until Nov. 5th because of baseball. Boo!

pp logo1 Private Practice 2×02 — “Equal and Opposite”: Ok, so this episode wasn’t as good as the premiere, but I still thought it was decent. The incestuous couple was — well, there are no words now, are there? I have to say that I KNEW they were going the brother/sister route as soon as I saw the couple. They actually looked a lot alike, so kudos to the casting director for making this storyline seem plausible.

Cooper was getting on my nerves for the way he was treating Violet. I thought he was being incredibly unfair to her, because after all, they were best friends who shared everything. You can’t just pull back like that and not expect questions. But he redeemed himself with his speech during the shampoo. Yay, I hope they can be normal with each other now!

Pete is disgusting for sleeping with a girl half his age. I am sooo glad Addison didn’t hook up with him, and now I hope she never does. Sam and Naomi are meh still. And poor Addison with that dumb phone message to SWAT guy….

Entourage 5×05 — “Tree Trippers”: What a lame episode! I tune in to Entourage to see these guys living a Hollywood lifestyle. I want to get an inside look at the industry, at exclusive nightclubs, upscale restaurants, lavish digs, expensive cars, run-ins with real-life celebs, etc. I don’t tune in to see the crew trip on shrooms in the desert for the entire 30 minutes. WTF??
