Private Practice 2×08 — “Crime and Punishment”: I wasn’t really into any of the patient stories this week, and was kind of hoping for more on the personal lives of the doctors. In particular, I’m surprised at how much I’ve grown to like the Cooper/Charlotte pairing! They were weird at first, what with all their dress-up games and barely having real conversations with each other, but then they actually developed into a solid couple. I’m pretty sure they’ll get back together, so I’m not worried about that. I just hope it happens sooner rather than later.
I’m also glad that Meg is sticking around for at least a while longer. I like the character, and think that she makes Pete at least tolerable, because he’s so damn boring on his own! And she jumped right into the thick of things with that abortion patient, didn’t she? Frankly, I couldn’t understand why those doctors all reacted the way they did about abortions. It’s one thing to have a personal opinion or not want to perform the procedure yourself, but to want to deny patients access to the service at your clinic? That seems a little out there for doctors, doesn’t it??
Still “meh” on Kevin and Addie. I’d like to see her dating some different guys rather than being stuck with one for this long. The two guys (Pete and Kevin) she’s been paired with on this show are both so bland… Addie needs to be with Mark Sloan!
House 5×10 — “Let Them Eat Cake”: The patient of the week was boring for me, especially because it felt like House wasn’t as involved in the diagnosis as much as usual. I know he was, but it didn’t seem like it because his attention was divided between the patient, Cuddy in his office, Thirteen’s clinical trials, and the Kutner fraud.
I can’t believe how immature House is in regards to the would-be relationship with Cuddy. He’s been in a serious relationship before (that S2 woman whose name escapes me right now), so I know he’s capable of putting himself out there like that, but his treatment of Cuddy is just asinine. And why she would still be interested in him after he repeatedly puts her down is beyond me. I’m running hot and cold on this relationship, obviously. In some scenes I think they would be great together, but in others I just feel that Cuddy could do so much better.
Not much for Wilson to do in recent eps… I would rather see him and the old team getting more screen time over the new guys. Taub and Kutner are ridiculous, and Thirteen is just annoying. Sigh. This show isn’t what it used to be.
