Bones 4×19 — “The Science in the Physicist”: This ep was pretty boring for me. The case was so dull that I tuned out in the early going and really had no idea what was going on after that. I still don’t know why the pond scum guy killed the physicist, nor do I know how Booth and Brennan figured out it was him (something to do with luminol, I take it).
Angela used to be a decent character, but she is so damn annoying now that I want to fast-forward every time she comes on the screen. I actually cheered when she got nailed by that frozen turkey… haha! I don’t understand the point of having one of the ZZ Top dudes playing her father, nor do I understand why, several months after the fact, he’s showing up in town now to exact “revenge” on Hodgins. And putting a tattoo of Angela on Jack’s arm? Lame!
Lost 5×12 — “Dead is Dead”: Well, after an awesome ep last week, we were back to a boring one this time around. I know lots of Lost fans simply can’t get enough of Ben and/or John Locke, but these have to be two of my least favorite characters out there. So I was barely interested in what they were blathering on about the whole time. The only WTF moment I got out of this one is the whole “dead is dead” thing, where Ben said he’s scared as hell of Locke because he doesn’t know what Locke is right now. Yikes!
House 5×20– “Simple Explanation”: Unfortunately, I was semi-spoiled about the suicide in this week’s episode. I didn’t know which character would do it, but as soon as I heard that Kutner hadn’t shown up for work or called in, I figured it was him. He was the least grating of the new cast members (though still not a favorite), so while his passing was a bit surprising, I can’t say that I’ll miss him too much. Plus, it looks like Kal Penn ended up getting a job at the White House, so congrats on that.
I liked how House was trying to figure out if there were signs pointing towards suicide, and when he couldn’t find any, he switched his line of thinking and insisted it had to be murder. Poor House. Everything has to have a reason, a logical explanation, doesn’t it? Too bad real life isn’t like that. I read some of the cast “tributes” on the official FOX page, and kind of liked how Cameron said Kutner was House’s favorite (even though he never admitted it).
