Grey’s Anatomy 5×21 — “No Good at Saying Sorry (One More Chance)”: This was a very good episode that felt like the old Grey’s to me. I can’t say it enough: Katherine Heigl, despite all the problems and issues she might be having behind the scenes, is the best damn actress on the show! Her scenes with Sharon Lawrence (who guest-starred as Izzie’s mother Robbie) were positively brilliant. I misted up a couple of times when Izzie and Robbie were talking — probably because they reminded me a little bit about my own relationship with my mother. We’re better at loving each other from afar as well, so I could totally understand where Izzie was coming from.
I even liked the Owen/Cristina scenes this week, and I usually feel pretty “meh” about them. I thought it was funny how Owen was saying, “Take care now!”, but I felt a little bad for him after he explained what those three words were really substituting for. Awww. I also liked that Mark showed up for Lexie’s dinner, even though I don’t like their relationship all that much.
Callie not being able to pay her rent is a puzzler, though. If daddy had been paying all her bills prior to this, what the hell was she doing with her salary the whole time? She should have some savings, shouldn’t she? At least enough to pay the rent on a shared apartment.
Didn’t care much for Meredith/Chief angst either. That has been going on far too long and is too boring to warrant spending so much time on. JMHO, of course.
Oh, please don’t tell me Heigl is leaving this show! It would be so boring without her!
Bones 4×24 — “The Beaver in the Otter”: I thought this was a fairly decent episode. The case was actually somewhat interesting, though the resolution (the girl murdered Beaver because she was tired of him hitting on her??) was kinda dumb. But at least the story was paced in such a way that I didn’t get bored with it in the first 10 minutes.
I’m not a huge fan of Booth’s brother, so I wasn’t exactly thrilled to see him reappear. I was hoping he’d just go off to India as planned and not come back for a few years. Unfortunately, that’s not gonna happen. I accidentally came across some spoilers regarding the last few eps of this season and the first few for next season, and learned that A) Brennan and Booth hook up for the sake of having a baby; and B) there’s subsequently a love triangle involving the brother.
These two plot points bug me because they’re so out of character. When has Brennan ever shown any interest in becoming a mom??? Um, like never, that’s when. And about the brother, he and Brennan went out on what, one date or something? That’s certainly not enough to lead to a love triangle, especially when Brennan has worked and been friends with Booth for four long years. How can there even be any comparison? Ugh.
House 5×22 — “House Divided”: I thought this was a very good episode. I wasn’t sure how much I would like Amber’s return as a part of House’s subconscious, but I have to admit that the plot device is working out fairly well. It’s fascinating to see House debate with himself, and gives the viewer a rare glimpse into his thought processes. I do, however, worry about what it means for House’s health in a general sense. There’s gotta be something really wrong with him, but we’ve had several House medical problems already (being shot, brain surgery to try to save Amber, etc.).
The POTW was kinda boring, which has been a common theme recently. It’s like the show is sacrificing a good medical mystery for the sake of developing its characters. Remember when the writers were able to do both things well? I do.

I agree – Katherine Heigl was absolutely amazing in last nights episode (as she has been since day 1). I would go as far as saying that she is the best actor (male or female) on the show. It will be a big loss for Grey’s if she isn’t there next season. I will stop watching if she does.
Me too, Dan, me too. I can’t even imagine the show without Heigl on it! The other characters are so blah… Izzie has been my favorite since the beginning, and the show would simply have no appeal for me without her.
