Last night’s episode of How I Met Your Mother was called “Right Place Right Time”, and was actually rather enjoyable despite being a Ted-centric piece. Ted usually annoys me, and I really can’t stand any of the things he’s been doing recently, but I’d forgotten how interesting the original storyline of how he met his future wife can be. Now to be clear, let me just say that I can’t stand Stella, so I’m not at all happy that she’s back. However, since I’m pretty confident that she’s not the mother of Ted’s future kids, I can only assume that she plays an important part in introducing Ted to the mother.
– The fact that Barney has slept with 200 women is pretty disgusting. It’s hard for me to watch him and Robin continue to have all this casual sex with other people when I just really want them to be together. Yes, I know they’re fictional characters, but still…
.
– I haven’t found the Marshall subplots very funny this season, but his graphs were cool. I especially liked how he had a pie chart to show his favorite bars, and a bar graph to show his favorite pies. Sounds just like Marshall!
– I know they explained Lily’s absence a couple eps ago, saying that she stayed away for a month or something because of the dirty joke Barney told her, but it’s so weird not to have anyone even mention her in a substantial way. Yes, Barney made a comment about getting her to be #199, but that was just a throwaway line. Would it be asking too much to get Lily on the phone or have Marshall talk about her? I guess so.
– Two episodes left this season. There better be a Barney/Robin payoff before all is said and done. Remember, it’s been since last season’s finale that Barney confessed his love, and NOTHING substantial has happened in all that time!
