wii-sports-resort Though I’m not much of a hardcore gamer, I do enjoy relaxing with a fun game every once in a while. But instead of the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 titles that my husband prefers, I’m much more comfortable with family-friendly Nintendo games. Mario Kart is one of my all-time favorites, and I also enjoyed the original version of Wii Sports. So you better believe I’m counting down the days until Wii Sports Resort is released!

Wii Sports Resort is a follow-up to the wildly popular Wii Sports game. This new version promises to be even better, with more activities to choose from and an all-new Wii MotionPlus accessory that more accurately tracks player movements.

From what I’ve read, Wii Sports Resort takes place at the fictional Wuhu Island resort, and allows players to choose from 12 different sports. These include archery, wakeboarding, cycling, golf, table tennis, Frisbee, and my personal favorite, bowling. Some of the sports have several versions available, so there are actually far more than just 12 options.

Anyway, Wii Sports Resort doesn’t even go on sale until July 26, but I’m thinking about pre-ordering it now. Buy.com is taking pre-orders, and is offering the game for $46.98 with free shipping. That’s a couple of bucks off the suggested retail price, though I have a feeling there’s not a lot of wiggle room for a brand-new item like this, especially one that’s expected to be a top seller.

The only drawback to ordering Wii Sports Resort is that I’ll be starting grad school in August and I have a feeling that a game like this could seriously cut into my studying time! Oh, well… that’s just a chance I’ll have to take!
