I loved the first couple seasons of Lost, but kind of gave up on the show during seasons 3 and 4. I decided to catch up again before season 5, however, because so many people kept saying that the show got really good again. I took them up on their suggestions and got sucked right back in to all the mystery, intrigue, drama, and mind-bending time travel that the show is known for. Now, I want to get the Lost Season 5 DVD box set before the sixth and final season starts up in early 2010.
Season 5 represents a distinct shift in the storytelling, because instead of just doing flashbacks to give more information about the main characters and their plight as castaways, the stories now flash forward as well to show how some of the group fare while off the island. This certainly makes for interesting dynamics, though things are admittedly a bit hard to follow at times.
That’s where the DVD box set can come in handy, as I’m sure there will be bonus features such as commentary, deleted scenes, and other extras to give viewers a better idea of what was really happening.
The Lost Season 5 DVD box set doesn’t actually go on sale until sometime in December, but some stores like Buy.com are already taking pre-orders. I’m going to go place a hold now so I can get this set as soon as it comes out. I hope Season 6 turns out to be awesome!!!
