My DVD collection consists mostly of boxed sets from my favorite television shows of the past and present. I very rarely buy movies because there aren’t too many that I can stand to watch over and over again. One rare exception would definitely have to be Love Actually, the 2003 Richard Curtis romantic comedy/drama. This is one of my favorite films of all time, and I would love to own it on DVD!
The best part of Love Actually (to me) is the terrific ensemble cast that was assembled for the project. I’m talking about Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Keira Knightley, Bill Nighy, Liam Neeson, and Laura Linney, just to name a handful of the bigger stars. With names like these, it would be hard for the movie to fail.
I also liked how the film featured all the different storylines that intersected with each other in random ways. My favorites were the ones involving Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson’s troubled marriage and Mark’s unrequited love of Juliet (the Keira Knightley character).
Anyway, I don’t have the Love Actually DVD yet, but want to change that very soon. The full screen version is on sale at Buy.com right now for just $6.99, which is practically nothing compared to what new releases sell for. I’m going to have to order this soon, especially since it has a Christmas theme and the holidays are right around the corner!
