HIMYM 5×07 — “The Rough Patch”: I’m not sure how I feel about last night’s episode. On the one hand, I figured the writers were kind of up against a roadblock with the Robin/Barney pairing. The two had lots of chemistry when they were just friends, but after they got together, the “awesomeness” faded away. On the other hand, this felt like such an abrupt and unnatural end to the relationship. That’s it? And they’re going to go right back to being friends as though none of that ever happened? Whatever.
– Fat Barney was disgusting. Great makeup job, but he was still just nasty. In his fat state, he actually reminded me of someone I know (in a bad way). Ewww!
– The Marshall and Lily subplot was consistent with their characters’ histories, so in that respect it was kind of funny.
– Alan Thicke and Robin Sparkles were in a variety show together? You just know Barney will uncover video evidence, which means viewers will also get a peek soon. I can’t wait!!
