HIMYM 5×15 — “Rabbit or Duck”: Man, this episode was pretty dumb. I didn’t like anything about it, except maybe the shot of Barney at the Super Bowl holding up that “Call Barney Stinson” sign. That made me laugh. It was all downhill from there, though.
When is Ted going to meet and date the mother?? There has been no season-long story arc this year, which is why these episodes feel so aimless and disconnected. Ted was just going through the motions last year too, but at least we had the Barney and Robin relationship to look forward to. Before that it was the Stella thing. I didn’t like Stella, but at least the storyline provided some sort of continuity between the different eps.
I’m just about ready to bail on this show if things don’t pick up soon. I’ve already dropped Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and Bones this year, after dropping Cold Case and CSI last year. I’m tired of wasting my time with shows that are in cruise control.
