24 8×12 — 3am – 4am: Wow, that was actually a pretty good episode! What’s that make, two in a row now? I’m telling you, when 24 is good, there are few shows on television that deliver better action sequences. I was sitting on the edge of my seat during the whole time Kayla was making her escape. I really thought Tarin had a genuine change of heart when he decided to help her. The fact that it was all part of a ruse to take out CTU was an awesome twist! Yes, I know taking out CTU isn’t an original idea, but it was completely unexpected at this point.
Also, I’ve read some speculation that the guy playing Kevin Wade’s parole officer might not be a parole officer at all. Kind of strange that a P.O. would show up at a place like CTU at 2-4 in the morning to chase down some redneck lowlife. He’s got to be after something bigger — which is why he keeps bulldozing his way through CTU like that. On the surface, he just looks like an old man who should be shopping for glucosamine hcl instead of a missing parolee, but there’s gotta be something more to him. Plus, we’re going to get a bigger payoff to the Dana Walsh storyline than simply having her go to jail, right? Sheesh, I hope so!
As I said, things are heating up in the 24-verse now. I wonder how the second half of the season will play out! (And where the hell is Renee? She needs to get back into the action soon!)
