Entourage 7×10 — “Lose Yourself”: Wow, I thought that was a great finale! It was good to see the season end on such a positive note, because things had been so mediocre up until this ep. Vince has really gone over the edge this time, and the writers have a chance to make his actions have a profoundly negative impact on his career. Since we know Season 8 will be the show’s last, I wonder if this spells the beginning of the end for Vince. I wouldn’t mind seeing him turn into one of those D-list has-beens that routinely appear on cheesy reality shows. There’s also the possibility that he could make a complete comeback, but the writers have done that twice already, so….
Loved all the guest stars in this one — even Mark Cuban. After a shaky start, he got progressively better and was actually pretty funny/believable in last night’s ep. Eminem was good, too. It was hilarious when Vince said, “Are you too mainstream to fight your own fights now?” or whatever and Em just hauled off and hammered him without saying a word! Ha! And Vince definitely deserved that ass kicking, too.
I can’t believe I’m about to write this, but I was a bit sad when Mrs. Ari said she needed some space. Despite how dysfunctional their relationship is, it’s clear that Ari truly loves her and that she’s the only thing keeping him somewhat grounded. He was obviously torn up by her decision, and I felt bad for both of them. Awesome job by Perry Reeves last night!
I’ve read that there will only be 6 eps in the final season. That’s not a lot of time to wrap things up, so I hope the writers are able to do the show and characters justice.
