Every summer I choose a new TV show to watch to get me through until my regular programs premier in the fall. I usually try to go for an established show (at lest 2-3 seasons in) that has a pretty good fan base and maybe even some critical acclaim.
This year, I’ve decided to try The Good Wife. I had heard of this show before, of course, but never really paid attention to it and didn’t know what it was about. As soon as I realized that it was a part legal drama, part political scandal, and part procedural, I was hooked! Those are my three favorite genres, so having them all wrapped up in one show is television nirvana for me!
I’ve already seen a few episodes and I like it so far. Julianna Margulies is not an actress that I particularly cared for on ER, but she is actually rather likable here. Throw in the investigator Kalinda, the smirky, smarmy Cary, Mr. Big, and Knox Overstreet, and well, it’s a pretty good combo!
The last critically-acclaimed legal drama I tried to watch was Damages, but I didn’t make it past a handful of episodes. Let’s hope The Good Wife is better than that!
