Burn Notice 5×06 — “Enemy of My Enemy”: This episode didn’t really grab my attention at all. I prefer it when the crew actually works with a civilian on a case of the week; I’m not at all interested when Michael helps the CIA on these side jobs. Plus, the ep was a bit too Sam-heavy for my tastes. Don’t get me wrong; I like the character and all that. But Michael should really be front and center, not someone else.
That being said, I did enjoy the Fiona and Maddie interaction quite a bit. They were hilarious at the DMV when they were trying to convince that woman to help them out by letting them check the system. There’s no way in hell that would actually work in real life, but then again, very few of these ruses would.
Anyway, I can’t believe we’re already six episodes into the new season! I hope things get back on track next week.
Entourage 8×01 — “Home Sweet Home”: This episode was kind of a letdown for me. I thought the S7 finale was great, but this premiere fell flat. Then again, I think that’s usually the case with Entourage premieres. It just takes the writers so long to get all the characters back into the swing of things. This time, though, they can’t afford to move at such a leisurely pace since there are only 7 episodes left in the entire series.
I don’t know why, but I always find it pretty humorous to see celebrity moms taking their children to the park. I wonder why they would put up with paparazzi and curious bystanders when they could just as easily buy their own
Plot summary (with possible spoilers): Set in 1199, this film gives background information on how Robin Longstride (played by Russell Crowe) begins as an ordinary soldier in Richard the Lionheart’s army, and ends up being declared an outlaw by Richard’s successor John (Oscar Isaac). Upon this declaration, Robin and his band of Merry Men, which includes Will Scarlett (Scott Grimes), Little John (Kevin Durand), and Allan A’Dayle (Alan Doyle) retreat to Sherwood Forest near Nottingham to begin their new purpose of stealing from the rich (usually meaning the king and his tax collectors) and giving to the poor. Robin is joined in his efforts by Maid Marion Loxley (Cate Blanchett), Friar Tuck (Mark Addy), and a host of wild orphans.
So the Emmy nominations were released today, and I was happy to see shows like Modern Family and The Good Wife get tons of recognition. Every adult actor on Modern Family was nominated for an award (including Ed O’Neill this time), as were FIVE actors from The Good Wife. Wow!
If I do have a party, it will be a big one. I plan on ordering a
Usually I can’t stand it when celebrities get on a soapbox and spew forth platitudes about various causes or politicians they support. It just comes off as preachy and shallow most of the time. But I do have to admit that I feel differently about Leonardo DiCaprio’s environmentalism.
