Although I enjoy checking out the weekend box office returns every Sunday, these posts kind of make me sad because they serve to remind me that I haven’t gone to see a movie at the theater in ages. Ticket prices are just too expensive for this economy, and there just always seems to be something better or more worthwhile to spend my money on. Maybe if the national chain theaters started offering reward cards that could be used for free tickets or concessions, I would feel differently. As it is, though, I’m simply biding my time until everything comes out on DVD.
Anyway, no real surprises in the box office returns for this weekend. Transformers is still on top, Horrible Bosses debuted fairly well, and Larry Crown continues to sink.
