Burn Notice 6×01 — “Scorched Earth”: Burn Notice is back!! I’m always excited about this show–at least for the first few episodes of every season–because I don’t really have anything else to watch in the summer. Here’s hoping this season plays out a little better than the last one.
Hey, look! Jesse made it into the opening credits! That’s a little odd, though. Wasn’t Coby Bell attached to some other TV show for a while, hence his significantly reduced role in S5? Oh, well. The character has grown on me by now, so I’m glad he’s sticking around.
As for the actual plot, I liked it. I’m tired of the whole Anson thing, but am glad that the main crew will have something else to focus on this season besides the burn notice. That’s finally been put to bed, right? Now they can worry about getting Fiona out of jail.
Speaking of, how did Jason Bly think he could convince Fiona that Michael died in that truck fire? She’s an explosives expert, so of course she noticed that the doors were still on the hinges. Come on!
Wow, Maddie certainly is getting more and more comfortable around guns, isn’t she? I thought for sure she was hiding in one of those plastic bins in the laundry room, so I was just as surprised as Jesse when she blasted the would-be assassin from the attic. Loved Jesse’s line about it, too: “Did you have to wait until he got all the way down to 1?”
I don’t like mean, belligerent Michael, so here’s hoping his attitude changes soon.
