Modern Family 4×13 — “Fulgencio”: Wow, this episode did not work for me at all. First, I’ve never seen The Godfather, so the whole parody was lost on me (until I read about it on a message board). But even if I was familiar with the movie, I’m not sure how funny the end would have been.
I thought Gloria’s sister was great, asking for the fields to go harvest corn or the river to go wash the clothes and generally being overwhelmed by Gloria’s wealth. But the mother was annoying (why doesn’t she like Jay? He treats Gloria pretty damn well, if you ask me) and the name plot was just dumb. Even Gloria should have been able to see how ridiculous it would be to saddle the kid with a name like that. She should have stood up to her mother, not put it all on Jay.
Mitchell/Cam/Lily…meh (yet again).
