Castle 5×15 — “Target”: I really enjoyed this episode! Castle usually doesn’t do suspense very well, but I have to admit that I was riveted for the entire hour. Usually I end up surfing the net and checking for cheap presentation folder printing rates or whatever else I might need at the moment; however, that didn’t happen this week.
I was completely unspoiled going in, so I didn’t know Alexis would be taken (an apt description, given the plot similarities to that movie) or that it would be a two-parter. Everything in the ep was a surprise — especially Nathan Fillion’s acting. I’ve never thought of him as a great actor or anything like that before, but I might be changing my tune now. Before I always just viewed him as charming and funny, with good comedic timing. In other words, “serviceable”. In this ep, however, his reactions were highly emotional and moving, and made the whole thing work.
Anyway, I haven’t watched previews for next week’s conclusion, so I have no idea where this is going. I hope the second part lives up to the first!
