There were no real surprises at the box office this weekend, as Monsters University was able to hold onto the top spot for the second week in a row. The Heat performed well, coming in at $40 million, while World War Z did a respectable $29.8 million in sales.
Meanwhile, White House Down was a major disappointment at $25.7 million. This soft open comes on a reported budget of $150,000,000 — which might have some investors in the Jamie Foxx/Channing Tatum pic looking for a good bankruptcy blog to protect their assets. I guess this one was just far too similar to Olympus Has Fallen, showing once again that timing is everything.

- Monsters University, $46.2 million
