Summary (from the studio): From the producer of Bridesmaids and the director of Forgetting Sarah Marshall comes an irreverent comedy about an engaged couple who keep getting tripped up on their long walk down the aisle. Tom (Jason Segel) and Violet (Emily Blunt) seem destined to live happily ever after, but as one hysterical delay follows another, everyone starts to wonder: can they survive the engagement?
Reaction: As a comedy, I thought this film sucked. Violet was totally unlikable and Tom was just barely tolerable, which made me wonder why I should care if they got married. I thought they were far better off broken up–not that their alternate partners were anything great; just that they didn’t belong together. Hell, Alex and Suzie were a hundred times better, and they were together as the result of a drunken hookup.
Rating:The film dragged, the laughs were few and far between, and the main characters sucked. Is it any wonder I give this one just 2 stars out of 5?
